Saturday night

We left Colorado Springs around 2:30pm and drove to Canon City. It's funny, you can still see Pikes Peak from here. We checked in to the hotel and went to eat at Wild West Steakhouse. Real good food and the kids had fun throwing peanut shells on the floor. (yes, it one of those places that has a huge bucket of in-the-shell peanuts on every table, and the floor makes crunching noises when you walk). The morning's plans include breakfast at the hotel, then to the Royal Gorge Bridge park. More later.

I had a real cheese steak philly at the Wild West place. It was oozing with caloric goodness.

And since the pool was whirlpool warm goodness I didn't need to go indoors to one of I believe five whirlpools~

The restaurant you described reminds me of a restaurant in Chicago where, if I remember right, you were supposed to throw peanut shells and napkins on the floor, "rudely" demand things from the waiters (and they would respond in kind), and eat everything with your hands.

It was a rather unique place to go (this was during a business trip about ten years ago, with co-workers).

I can't get used to the idea of dumping piles of junk on the floor in a restaurant, but oh well it's better than the waiters sitting down with you while you order. They did that in Appleton (Longhorn Grille?)and the idea has creeped me out ever since.
